  Alex the Allegator 2
Alex the Allegator 2 (spelled with an e) is a "gem." Although the graphics and sound are nice, the real impressive thing about this board game is its originality. I've never seen anything quite like it. In this game, your goal is to remove as many groups of tokens as possible. To remove tokens, simply create a group of same-colored tokens. This game has a high score table and the option to play single or two player. A quite enjoyable game. This game is best when played with a friend.

  Arasan Chess
An very intelligent chess-playing program with many levels. You can play against the computer or you can choose to use Arasan with its console version that has Internet chess server support so you can play online. You can also let Arasan play on its own against other chess programs online, such as Crafty or Gnuchess. The graphic is basic, but that's not vital in this case when Arasan is equipped with such a powerful "brain".

  Catapults
This is the first time I have ever been impressed by a Connect 4 game. This version of Connect 4 has two modes. Classic mode is exactly the same thing as Connect 4. Real-time mode is very different. The catapults are able to be shot simultaneously, causing an explosion between the intersecting projectiles. Sheep can also be shot with the catapults and bombs can be used to ruin your opponent's construction. 4 player games are possible in real time mode. Catapults can be given new skins (none are available as of this review). This is a unique and fun implementation of Connect 4 with nice graphics and sound.
Source code is available on the home page.

  Elimination 2
This game may be played against the computer or against a friend, and you may even set up teams. In Elimination, you must jump your opponents with your pieces. But unlike most capture games, you roll a dice to determine how much you can move, and you can jump over a piece to a few square away in some cases. This game has nice graphics, nice music, and is fun. The computer opponent is a bit easy though playing 1 human against 2 computers will be more challenging (the team setting allows 2 against 1, or even 3 against 1). Elimination has a few settings, and even includes a save game feature. You may play with or without sinkholes.

  Jatrego
Gamers who love Stratego will love Jatrego. Gamers who do not know what Stratego is will learn quickly through Jatrego. Stratego, as the name implies, is a classic strategy game. Jatrego brings this game online. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia.org that explains the basics of the game:

Stratego is a strategic board game featuring a 10 x 10 square board and two players with 40 pieces each. Pieces represent individual officers and soldiers in an army. One player uses red pieces, one player uses blue pieces.

The object of the game is to find and capture your opponent's Flag, or to capture so many pieces that your opponent cannot move at all.

Each player moves one piece per turn. If a piece is moved onto a square occupied by an opposing piece, their identities are revealed, and the weaker piece is removed from the board. Pieces may not move onto a tile already occupied by the same team. Ties result in both pieces being removed.

For most pieces, its rank alone determines the outcome, but there are special pieces: Bombs (which only Miners can defuse, but which cannot move) and the Spy (which wins an attack against the highest-ranked piece, the Marshal, but loses when attacked by any piece, including the Marshal).

Finally, strategic gamers everywhere can enjoy this game over the internet through a decent client. While the graphics of Jatrego are simplistic, I found that the style actually helped me play the game. I could see the rank of my troops and their placement quite clearly, assisting my strategizing. The interface is very self-explanatory and easy to use.

There are no sounds in Jatrego, but as I said before, I found that this omission only got rid of another distraction. Controls are very intuitive, using only the mouse for troop placement and movement. While there is no manual, one is not necessary; the game is extremely self-explanatory.

Jatrego makes it extremely easy to play Stratego against your friends. One feature I particularly enjoy is that of the observer, which allows others to watch your matches. There are no CPU players in the game, but if you frequent the Gamehippo IRC Chat Server, I am sure you can find someone to play.

Presentation: 9/10 – The interface is clean, and very easy to use.

Graphics: 8/10 – While the graphics are simplistic, I feel that the simplicity adds to the game.

Sounds: 0/10 – There are no sounds.

Game-Play: 10/10 – If you enjoy Stratego, you will enjoy this game.

Lasting Appeal: 9/10 – Jatrego offers unlimited play.

The Rating: 9/10
