It is a lot like Puyo Puyo or Bubble Puzzle. However, you only drop one eyot at a time. In addition, if you fill up a column, the bottom eyot falls down and the column moves down one (Hint: this is sometimes very useful). There are multiple difficulty levels. The control is simple and can be by mouse or keyboard. There are cute, high quality graphics and nice sound and music. There is even a story line. As you play, the eyots build structures on the island. I must be getting old and slow, because it's almost impossible to finish even level 1 (of the 35 levels), in which you have 8 secs allotted to eliminate enough blocks. Bamboozle Machinae II is based on its prequel sequel Bamboozle Machine which was made for the Allegro Speedhack 2003 competition. You will recognize ingredients from both Columns, Tetris, and even Rubic's Cube. The game is filled with neat visual explosive effects, and the smooth rotation of a whole plane of blocks is a cool and unique feature being a game belonging to the Tetris genre or in the proximity thereof.
